Hawaii Surf Team takes home GOLD Medal at the 2014 ISA World Junior Championship

The Hawaii Surf Team is proud to announce their World Junior Title and Gold medal at the 2014 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship in Salinas, Ecuador. The team will be arriving back to the island 4/14, Monday at 8:55PM on American Airlines. We welcome you to join us greet them with ALOHA upon their arrival. 

For the second consecutive year in a row, both Tatiana Weston- Webb (girls under 18) and Mahina Maeda (girls under 16) received an individual gold medal. Imaikalani DeVault (boys under 18) received a copper medal, placing 4th. These accomplishments allowed the team to take the Gold Medal, and the World Junior Title for 2014.

The Hawaii Surf Team also won the gold medal in the Aloha Cup on Saturday, April 12th with the highest point total ever at 74.54. Tatiana Weston-Webb had the highest point total of all competitors in the tag team Aloha Cup Everyone worked extremely hard and faced some tough competition, with over 30 teams/countries competing. The conditions on the 8th and final contest day were large and in charge at 6ft , worth Hawaiian scale surf. We are excited to return home to our families and the islands that we love. Mahalo to everyone for their support throughout the contest. Please continue to follow the team.

Team Coaches, Rainos Hayes, Bert Ishimaru and Kahena Hart.
